The Curse, Women, and God’s Design

You see how God links sin with sorrow, especially in conception, childbirth, and the lifelong work of raising children, and how this differs from Satan’s promise of pleasure in sin (Genesis 3:6). He explains that headship and help were designed before the fall, but the struggle over authority and the pain bound up with family life are part of the curse. At the same time, Scripture lifts women to a place of dignity and honor in Christ, calling wives to a noble, God-honoring role of service and husbands to loving, sacrificial leadership (Ephesians 5:25; 1 Peter 3:7; Galatians 3:28).
